DAY 1 - East
DAKROUR MOUNTAIN
A short climb up Dakrour Mountain brings you to the site of Siwa’s famous Eid Siaha cultural celebration, a festival of unity, tradition, and spirituality.
SALT LAKES
A serene experience offering crystal-clear waters perfect for floating. The natural salt pools provide a peaceful escape and stunning photo opportunities.
AL-ZEITUNA VILLAGE
Between scattered Roman ruins stands Al-Zeituna, an abonded village once very important for the caravanserai trading route. Remains of a Roman temple, ancient olive press and huge market space, hold stories of the past.
GREAT SAND SEA DESERT SAFARI & DINNER
The desert trip is led by an expert local guide who knows the desert like the palm of his hand. Pick up in the morning by a comfortable 4x4 landcruiser. Along the way you will stop at beautiful spots. While you search for ancient fossils, as this desert was once a prehistoric ocean, your guide will prepare delicious lunch cooked over a campfire.
In the afternoon you will pass by a refreshing desert lake, perfect for a swim. Try your luck with sandboarding before watching one of the most memorable sunsets over the vast sand dunes.
As night falls, gather around the campfire, while the famous abu mardam, an authentic dish cooked in the sand will be prepared. Savor this traditional desert dinner under the stars—with the option to sleep in the heart of the desert.
DAY 2 - Center
SHALI FORTRESS
Discover the ruins of Shali, the ancient heart of Siwa built from salt and mud, in use for over a thousand years. Climb to the top for stunning panoramic views of the oasis and surrounding desert.
SIWA HOUSE MUSEUM
Step into this little authentic museum to discover the oasis’s unique culture and traditions. Explore traditional artifacts inside a beautifully restored home.
ORACLE TEMPLE
Visit to the Oracle Temple, Siwa's greatest histocial treasure. Once attracting people from all over the world, including kings like Alexander the Great in search of answers from the gods.
CLEOPATRA SPRING
Relax in Cleopatra's spring, the most famous natural water spring of the oasis, mentioned even by Herodutus around 500 B.C. Now you can enjoy fresh home made juices and a delicious lunch.
RUINS OF UM UBEYDA
Once connected to the oracle temple, today ruins tell bits of the story of probably a funerary temple. Original colorations and hieroglypichs are still visible on the standing wall.
SALT CAVE
Relax in a salt cave made from pure natural Siwa salt, a calming and refreshing experience. Surrounded by the healing properties of salt, you can unwind in this quiet space.
SUNSET & DINNER
Enjoy the sunset overlooking lake, lush green gardens and the infinite Great Sand Sea. Enjoy a traditionally prepared dinner with delicious local flavor combinations.
DAY 3 - West
MOUNTAIN OF THE DEAD
Siwa's largest necropolis where over 2000 tombs have been found, carved in one single mountain. Some graves still have their original decorations narrating the stories of those buried, around 600 BC.
BALAD EL RUM
Explore the archaeological burial site of Balad El Rum, featuring rock-cut tombs and the possible remnants of the only trace of Christianity in the oasis.
VISIT TO LOCAL DATE FARM
Visit a local date farm and learn how this sweet local treasure is grown and harvested. Enjoy a traditional Siwan tea ceremony and taste the different types of dates and home made sweets.
ECO LODGE
Visit to one Egypt’s most famous and award-wining eco-lodges, nestled at the foot the mountain with spectacular views over the enormous lake. The exquisite maroccan cuisine offers a perfect possibility for lunch.
LOCAL FAMILY VISIT
If you'd rather prefer to have an authentic experience for lunch, visit a local Siwan family and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal full of traditional flavors. A chance to connect and experience authentic oasis hospitality.
FOOTSTEPS IN BAHEI EL DIN
Visit the most Westernly located desert village of Eypt: Bahei elDin. On the op of Ziga Mountain, we find what are believed to be prehistoric footprints.
SUNSET
